Kid Poker
Daniel Negreanu, pronounced "Neg-rah-noo", was born July 26, 1974 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Daniel started playing poker at the age of 15 and at the age of 21 he left for Las Vegas to pursue his dream of becoming a professional poker player.
"Kid Poker", as he is nicknamed, is very easy to spot in poker tournaments as he usually likes to wear a hockey jersey while playing. He became the youngest world championship event winner in history in 1998 at the age of 23. He currently has over 30 wins including three World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour titles. Daniel Negreanu currently stands 2nd on the World Poker Tour's all-time money list.
Daniel attributes his success in poker to his ability to read opponents. "The most important skill I utilize" he explains, "is observing what hands his opponents play and how capable they are of playing them."
On a personal note - On August 19, 2005 Daniel married Lori Lin Weber and the two reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.
