Known For His One-Liners and His Tough Play
If Alan Betson wasn't a professional poker player, he would probably be a comedian. He is known as much for his sense of humour as his ability at the table. He is quick to offer up a one-liner, especailly when the poker play is getting tough.
Alan Betson wasn't well known outside of Ireland prior to 2001, the year he became The European Texas Hold'em Champion winning the Euro Finals of Poker at the Aviation Club in Paris. He currently has 3 other 1st place finishes - The Irish Open in 2000 (2nd in 2005), Austrian Classics in 2001, and Irish Winter Festival in 2002.
Betson is a star on the poker tables, but he keeps his private life...just that... private.
