Kassem "Freddy" Deeb
Kassem "Freddy" Deeb was born on November 27, 1955 in Beirut, Lebanon and emigrated to the United States at the age of 19.
In 1975 when Deeb was attending Utah State University, civil war broke out in Lebanon and Freddy Deeb lost contact with his parents for 2 years. Freddy's parents weren't able to send him money to help support him anymore because of it. Deeb was on a student visa and was unable to gain employment so he turned to gambling. Just 12 credits away from graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, Freddy was forced to leave University.
Freddy Deeb's biggest win todate came on June 29, 2007 when he won $2,276,832 in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2007 World Series of Poker. It was his 2nd WSOP bracelet, the other coming when Freddy won in the $5,000 Deuce to Seven Draw event at the 1996 World Series of Poker (WSOP), taking home $146,250.
Freddy first cashed at the WSOP May 12, 1990 when he took 2nd and $130,000 in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event.
Freddy has cashed over 45 times.
Freddy also took home $1,000,000 when he won the fourth season World Poker Tour (WPT) Ultimate Poker Classic event.
