Tony Ma was born Hieu Ngoc Ma in 1957 in Vietnam and moved to Southern California in 1985.
Tony "The Animal" Ma won a bracelet and $236,000 from the 1996 World Series of Poker $5,000 limit hold'em event. He defeated a field including John Bonetti, Johnny "Oriental Express" Chan and T.J. Cloutier. Tony won a second bracelet in 2000 for the $2,000 limit hold'em event and took home $367,040.
Tony Ma made the final table finishing in 5th place in the first season Pro-Celebrity Invitational Tournament in the World Poker Tour and his tournament winnings are over $4,000,000.
