What is the Rake and what does No Rake mean?

Sometimes I see this in home poker game ads - what does a game with No Rake mean? Is it good or bad?

All casinos rake cash games. A typical $1/$2 NL game the rake will be 10% of the pot capped at $4 or $5.Tournaments can't be raked. So casinos charge a fee, typically 10% of the entry.Home Games: In the last few years raked home games have become more common here in the US. The rake in a home game should be less than in a casino IMO. I have heard of some home games with a high or uncapped rake, these games are unbeatable and should be avoided.I don't mind playing in a home game with a reasonable rake if food and drinks are provided. Putting on a good game can run into money and a small rake is a good way to cover expenses.

The rake is the amount of commission that the dealer or house takes from a pot. It's normally up to about ten per cent. A game with no rake means the house takes no commission and the players are playing for 100 per cent of what is in the pot.
