The man known as The Grinder - Michael Mizrachi - currently sits at number seven in the all-time money list for live tournament professionals, with an impressive haul of $14,074,765. Not bad for a man everyone said was broke, just a few short years ago.
A devoted husband, father and multiple World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, Mizrachi would have thought that his line of accolades would have come to a grinding halt (pardon the pun).
However, the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISTP) has just announced The Grinder as their ambassador, thus adding another title to his impressive resume.
The ISPT is the brainchild of French finance company, Groupe Bernard Tapie, who is more famously known for their recent failed attempt to purchase the remains of Full Tilt Poker.
The ISPT have announced that their first poker cash games
are going to be held at Wembley Stadium in London between May 31st and June 6th of 2013.
The signing of Mizrachi just adds more credentials behind a tour the poker public was starting to believe was just a publicized stunt.
No sooner had the ISPT announced the signing of Mizrachi, he was broadcasting the news on Twitter, “I just want to announce I will be @ISPT_poker official ambassador. Will be one of the biggest tournaments ever held!”
The ISPT stand on the cusp of greatness, because their debut tournament at Wembley promises to deliver the never before deliverable. The goal of the tournament is to draw in a crown of around 30,000 players.
The tournament would start in an online format, where qualification rounds will reduce the field until the final legs that will be played in Wembley Stadium. The winner is estimated to take away around €10 million as the first prize.
