Two of life’s little pleasures are, one, being able to frequent your local public house for a nice, cold beer and two, playing a game of poker against your friends. Until recently you could play poker in your local pub but there was no real structure to it, that was until Redtooth Poker League came about.

Redtooth Poker League has literally exploded in popularity over the pas t couple of seasons and now boasts over 1,000 venues that are used for the pub poker league, where there are currently 82,612 players competing across the country in order to be crowned pub poker champion.

With trade dwindling in pubs up and down the country, many landlords have enlisted the services of Redtooth Poker League in a bid to boost flagging profits. Along with being able to provide poker apparel such as tables, chips and cards, Redtooth are also experts in other pub based entertainment such as quiz nights, casino nights, race nights and sporting dinners.

Players take to the felt in their local pubs and are awarded points from 10 to 100 based on where they finish in their tournament. The top two players from each pub get to represent their establishment in a live regional finals where usually the players reaching the final table will be awarded with a cash prize and a seat in the national finals, which is held at the biggest and best dedicated poker club in Europe, Dusk Till Dawn.

For those players who cannot make it down to their local, Redtooth have also set up an online pub poker league which follows a similar format to the live games but with money added to each prizepool by Redtooth Poker League and the site the tournaments take place on.

Season 5, the 2010/11 season only started at the beginning of February so there is still plenty of time to convince your landlord to join the poker league or find a pub in your locality that has already joined so you can accumulate points and become the official UK Pub Poker Champion.
