Find local poker games and start your own poker leagues

Hello i have a question regarding groups. Im new to the website and to the community and I want to make a group so all my friends can join it.

The thing is that I already made the group but I dont know how to invite people to join it.

Is there a way to invite them or they have to search and join the group manually?

Hi,

Ok, well, people can join groups if you have made it public and joinable, but you can also add them from the list by clicking on "Add New Member". When you view your group from the My Groups list (which shows the groups you have created AND all the ones you are a member of) you will see this button on the bottom, under the list of group members.

Click on this and then you can search the PokerDIY member list. Ultimately I want to have a way of inviting non-registered users too, but for now you can just use the Tell a Friend form to tell them about PokerDIY ;)

Ok, i have a group up and running and already made my first game organized via this website, nice experience. Ok my question is this. I dont know how to send a private message to all the group members, its said that you can do this, but I cant find the button. Help me out a little...

That's great to hear!

Right - unfortunately I found a small bug so I had to temporarily disable this functionality - I will have it running again in the next 2 days. I have just uploaded the new League version which does allow you to do this (only the League and Group only can currently send group messengers).

I joined a league but I'm still now sure how to send a mass message to the whole league. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Only the League owner can currently send private messages to the league. I definitely want to make this a setting so the league owner can say that any member can send messages to the rest of the league.

If you are the league owner you just need to expand the "League Members" bit and click on the "Send Message" (to send to all the members in your league).

I am actually working on a new version (with Tournament Director integration for uploading results) so I will try and get this in.

Note that this is similar functionality to Groups, which will be live in the next 2 weeks or so.

If you are scheduling a game you can also use the "Create an Events" software to send a message to all your guests - it may help get around the limitation in the meantime?

Quick update - I have released some nice new features for the leagues and decided to get this in. Any member of a league can send private messages to the whole league now.
This will change slightly in the next couple of days - to prevent spam I will be introducing a setting for the League Owner to set which is "Allow members to send mass private messages" - so it will be up to the host if everyone can send or not, but it will default to true.

So if you go to a league detail page now you should see a "Send Message" button above the users when it's expanded... let me know how it goes...
