"My Friends" or Groups are basically groupings of users that you consider to be worth knowing or connecting to. You can invite anyone to be in your group of friends, and then you can use this group to make League or Game management easier. For example, after creating a game you can invite players by UserName OR by UserGroup.

You can see your current groups of friends and create more groups here.

This Forum is dedicated to discussing this functionality (current and suggestions for improvements) only.

thanks,
Rodney

So if you set up the "friends" list, do we have the ability to pm them all at once through the forum or would that still have to be done on an individual basis? I know that admins of forums can mass pm or mass mail usergroups but I don't know that regular members have that ability anywhere. I think it'd be really cool to be able to put together a list to inform your friends of a private game by pm.

Yes, thats correct. You are able to send all the members of your group a private message (but you need to go to the "My Friends" page and send them for each group (it's not part of the Forums).

The whole idea is that you stay connected easily. When you make a league or a game, you can also add invitees by group - so you could make a new game and add your "People near me" group for example. When you send the invites they will each get an email invite and they can then RSVP (see Games/Events for more on this).

thanks,
Rodney

Thanks for the update. That is definitely going to make getting games together a whole lot easier. Will there be a limit to how many groups you can create or is it unlimited? Being able to rsvp for a game is a lot easier for me. I don't like to wait to last minute and then discover I have an extra player coming.

This is a really great feature.  It is like making a buddy list for poker.  It will make getting people to games easier and quicker.  I think this is one of the best features on the website. I am looking forward to using it.

This is a nice feature. It'll be an easy way to coordinate players so they know what is going on. That is our biggest problem is getting the word out to everyone. Now all the information about our game is easy to distribute.

Yes, I am almost finished the next version - it should be up in a week's time - there will be much better searching (by tags/categories/country) - very similar to MySpace's groups (shhh ;)

One day I want to intregrate Google Maps with it so that you can see players near by you via GMaps (but this is a few months away!)

thanks,
Rodney
