I have never been a member of a league before and wasn't quite sure how it worked. From what I have read I know that league games for the season can be posted here but how do you keep track of the score. Is there a function on the calender that allows us to keep score and post it? Or should that be something that the league members just keep track of and then total out at the end of the season?

I don't think there is a program on this site that can do it for you. Like I was telling another member maybe you could try a spreadsheet. That way you can keep track of everything and then just total it up for that. I was wondering the same thing. Maybe that will work.

It would be great if there were a feature and maybe eventually there will be one, but I don't think there is one yet.  I agree it is best to just use a spreadsheet or chart to keep track of everything.

Yes, this is something in development at the moment! Basically, after a poker game you will be able to enter your scores against a Game on PokerDIY. So for example if you played on a Wednesday and used PokerDIY to organize the game, you can enter a report (e.g Congrats to Bob for winning (again)) - and record the scores. Then the people in the game (or everyone if it is public) can see the scores and results.

IF this was a League game, these scores would then be counted for the current Season (there can only be one active/current season in a League at any time). At the end of the Season you will have the final Season results.

One thing about scoring that I am still working on is the different ways of scoring a game. For exmaple, it could be positional, so the person who comes first gets 10 points, 2nd gets 5 etc. or it could be by prize money, or a couple of other ways.

This is something you will set up for each Season (so it is the same for all games and people) - I hope to offer a variety of scoring mechanisms to suit your particular League or Game.

thanks,
Rodney

The new changes are going to be great for the leagues. Right now I am using a spreadsheet. When it gets development here I will definitely be swithching over. With that and calender in place there will be a lot less that I will have to keep up with.

Well the answer to this is to make a multiuser access platform but considering the people who'd be editing it are in direct competition, strangers, and someone would have to track edit by edit analisys, somehow that would not work.

I suggest posting a table with all the dates and league entries spaces left blank. Then everybody can update their column in their original reply post, and then at the end each colum can be conjoined into one final one by the webmaster.

Tada league results.

Hmmm - I think the way I am implementing it will solve all these problems. There will be a League Host, who can update and edit the results for a game, but he can also delegate this task to anyone else in the League.

Each Game will have a report - this will be an overview of the game that the game host can fill in afterwards; eg. who won, memorable moments etc.I also plan on having a link for a PodCast so they could upload their audio report and you could download it and listen to it on your Ipod, but now I am getting carried away ;)
thanks,
Rodney

So to make sure I have this correct...you can or cannotkeep score for an entire season.  I just installed my league layers into a new league, but when the page comes up, you don't see a column for points.  You see a column for Avg payout.  Earnings, payin total etc.  but nothing for points.  My league uses points to determine who makes it to teh Champ game.  is there anything that can be done for this by now?  I see the past few posts were last year.

Hello,

I have not yet implemented points for scoring yet, but I am about to do so. So currently you can enter the score but it does not affect ranking. In the meantime, you could use the financial amount as the number of points? Do you use this too?

I'd like t ofind out exactly how you do your scoring so I can make sure the system can handle it.

thanks,
Rodney

Our scoring is as follows:

1st place - 10 x # of players entered

2nd place - 8 x # of plys

3rd - 6 times

4th - 4 times

5th - 2 times

6th - 1 times

I don't necessarily need for the system to calc the amount of pts to give everyone(though it would be nice).  I simply would like for the Leagues main page to show all of the year's totals.  Money won, and total points for the year.   Right now it will give you the total amount of money won, but it doesn't have a column for points at all.

BTW, thanks for the quick response.

Ok, let me digest that this weekend and see if I can do a quick release with something that'll work.

thanks,
Rodney

Update - We have just released a new version of the core Poker League Software that allows you to rank your poker league on points, average points, profit, total profit or total games played.
