I have never been very good at deciding how much the blinds should be, I either pick too high or too low. Lately we have been putting in 10.00 and make our small blinds .10 and big blind .25. Is that too low? |

We usually do .25 and .50 blinds just so we can play with quarters only. It is harder when you go small coins. We usually do a twenty dollar buy in. I think the way you are doing it is not too low, but just more complicated. At least in my opinion. |

That is a good start unless you are really trying to chill people out of the game.
The beauty of hold em is that you can just reraise and keep going until someone says uncle. So one hand can be brutal, decisive. |

purple I the blinds on your game are pretty good. But if the players don't want them that high go .05 and .10. It seems about right for a freindly game

We do quarters as well, and it seems to work for most games ...there's the occassional dollars only games and those can get expensive but interesting! |

We use a poker chips and depending on how many people are playing we'll start with anywhere from 2000 to 5000 chips and just have the blinds like a regular tournament. We'll time it to go up every 15 mins or 30 mins...just depends..
If you're using the change method using quarters, starting .25 and .50 makes sense. |

So if the big blind was $2 and the small blind was $1, the player in the small blind would have to pay $1 to call. |

As far as i know, the first big blind should be 1/50 of the starting chip amount, if it starts at 1000 in chips then you first big blind is 10/20. |

It all really depends on the stack size and the place you are playing. The blinds increase every 15 minutes unless you start at 100/200 then it's every 20. |
