Anyone here used to eat food at the poker table?
For me it's not a good habit to eat food at the poker table. It's not a great pleasure for other players if they noticed that some of your food were spoiled in the cards. What do you think? |

I believe snacks are fine, but people who eat burgers or Kentucky Fried Chicken at the table is the worst experience I've ever have.

It depends on whose house you are playing at. A buddy of mine only lets people eat away from the table. At my house, there are usually snacks, but I'm going to start offering a little more food than I have been. |

Agree, I was considering this point after posting.
Sometimes really depends on the grade of confidence you have with the host or being the host what it really rules when it comes to snacks.

You're OK if the food isn't messy. However at long "weekend" long tournaments, where there is more then 300-400 players, they are allow it. They'll give you a stool or a table and stand it next to you so that you can eat it and peace. Usually, they'll also give you a "dinner" break and you have to leave for 45 minutes, and then you'll just get blinded down.
At live cash games at the casino, you can leave with the dinner pass for about 45 minutes, and you can sit out and keep your seat reserved.

Nod. I think it depends on where you go. When in doubt, ask prior to the event. |

Just posted in another thread I like the nachos and beer. I like snacks and drinks at the poker table, but people eating big meals, well that can be done before you play poker. Perhaps if people want they can have a bar-b-que prior to the poker game and then everyone can eat and then sit down to play poker. |

I host a home tourney each week and only allow it away from the table. We had an idiot get grease on the table and spill his drink. I say off the table next to them...but don't hold up gameplay. |

Live in the casino if they serve food, most players don't care as long as you're not holding up the game. Napkins and wiping hands before touching cards is a must. I haven't seen anyone make a mess yet but there's always going to be that first. I have seen people spill drinks on the table however and that was a time waster but when you allow it, it's bound to happen. |

Depends on the food. As a rule I don't like it.
