I was doing a research for work before weekend fun starts, when I found that a site that is meant to teach kids has an article on poker betting tips, check it out: |

Some beginning players confuse the terms "bankroll" and "buy-in." A buy-in is the amount of money you start with in a game or the entry fee into a tournament. Your bankroll is the entire amount of money you have available with which to play poker over a period of time. It would be unwise to bring your entire bankroll at any one time or to use all the money you have with you to buy chips right off. Not only are there ups-and-downs during a single poker session but also ups-and-downs over a period of time. Your bankroll should tide you over the low periods. If not, then you need to think about how poker is affecting your overall finances. |

Simple tips for all casino playeers out there. Bet with your head, not over it! bet you can afford to lose.. if can't absorb losing the money you are risking, then do not play, but if you can't help yourself the away we go.. |

You don't have to bet big to make your opponent to fold their cards. In fact, you can get away with betting 2/3 the pot or even smaller and still make players fold. The reason being is that a player who’s not intent on calling is just as likely to fold to a half-pot-sized raise as they are to a pot-sized raise. And you don’t want to bet anymore than you have to in case the player calls. |

You have to understand first the pot odds as it relates to your hand odds, this is the most important factor when making your betting decisions. Let's say if the odds holding to the winning hand are better the odds the pot is giving you then you should call or better to raise or else, fold unless you are going to bluff your hands out than that's a different story. |
