Checking is in Heads-Up a more dangerous move than betting out.

I think that checking is very usefull when you hold a really strong hand. You show weekness and easily trap your opponent :-)) I like that :-)

    Hey Andy,

I highly doubt it - it's one of the key pshycological betting weapons of the game! It's the same way I was playing against someone and there was a side pot, and I a full house in the middle, so I went all in and the other guy folded, and then I won (we would have split it) and he really got upset and said I was a bad sportsman and that I would be banned in some casinos ;) Yeah right...

    thanks,
    Rodney

its all the way someone plays....some people will check it down and some wont...it all depends on if they think they have the best hand

More info in the question is helpful.

If you're asking what check means...It means to not bet, you're checking to the next player with an option to call or raise any bets that round.

When to check or not to check depends on a lot of factors though. What position you're in, how the other's at the table are playing, what you hold and what's on the table. If everybody checks around and I'm on the button, chances are I'm betting to see where I stand.

What do you mean by checking? Is that the option in the game? If that's what you mean, Well, basically, when you are checking your are going to pass and the other players after you act. Unlike folding, you still have your cards but if the other poker players bet the action and returns to you and to either call raise or fold, but if everyone decides to check, then the next round happens.

...or checking like in poker tour "Checking in dark" or something like that, this would be an ideal flop to lead, because that would essentially give you three chances to win the pot - with your lead, with your shove if someone player(s) raises, or by hitting one of your draws if the money goes in.
