    Hello all poker players,

I'm just wondering how most of the people learn to play  poker. I have learn to play by a friend. He asked me to come and learn the game. Of course you also learn it from playing on internet and watching tactics on tv.

    How did you learn poker?

I learned from my father as well. We would play in the winter a lot so I picked up most of the games and loved it.

First i see it on tv and hear about it in news.
Then decided to look on the internet to join a game, started with partypoker which i think alot do start with ;)
After playing a few games started looking to read more about it and download the world series of poker movies.

Also play sometimes for real now (fun games tho. )

I think I always knew basics but a couple of months ago a friend of mine explained some aspects before I started playing. Then a couple of books and sites like pokerstrategy.

I started to learn texas hold'em by watching one of the customers from the internet cafe i work in play. Then i read a few books (David Sklansky's Theory of Poker, the 3 volumes of Harrington on Hold'em), i read a lot of posts on different forums and i watched videos on youtube.

I liked watching the WPT on the travel channel.
Then I started playing on-line after seeing an add for Ultimate Bet on a commercial.
I have only played in a live tourney once and it was in Vegas they are many tourneys that go on weekly in my town I just do not have time to get to them.

I have found some books on strategy. First I read these, then I dowloaded some PokerRooms and started to play freeroll and some SnG. It's 3 months now, my bankroll is over 250$.

    Bye
