A lot of times i try to get a double or triple stack in the first 10-15 minutes ... if i make it, then i can play with a decent stack for the rest of the tournament, if not ... then i'm out early :D. |

Ive never won a huge freeroll but have come 2/5674 and 5/5372 1nd 10/12000. I tend to sit out or fold the 1st couple of blinds then play premium and sooted connectors for a bit. Then its onto the premiums. But like all games you have to gage the table trends. |

And when there are 4 of those you have nice payout lol. KK are huge favourites against A+something and you should always play odds. First ten or so hands are usually a donkfest or bingo whatever term you like better so I'm not participating unless I'm holding monster that are AA or KK and sometimes AK suited. |

I think you need to be tight in the beginning.
You must wait till you get a hand to double up.
When you had done that, you can bully the table with more hands, the hands you want to play in Late Position. When you're doing that, you need to play the hands aggressive to get more chips in your stack. Then you'll get in the money, you need to be aggressive also. I think you need to play like the "Inflection Points Play". You will be getting far in the tournament and when you're reaching the final table, you need to be tight until the table is down to 5 players, then you'll start to be aggressive.
Greetz, Mike.

Yes i think you have to play tight, try to get some chips with some good hands, and wait until all the donks are busted. |

You can also be a sitout in the first 15 minutes, because you don't want to play any hand in these minutes, because that are the donk minutes. |

A lot of generalizations have been posted in this thread about playing tight and letting the loose players bust out. Well, that's a fair enough generalization, but playing that way won't optimize your chances. Waiting for premium hands means you'll usually miss out on collecting "your share" of the dead chips. I don't advocate playing wildly yourself, but exceptions to the aforementioned generalization arise often enough that it pays to watch for situations where you can gain by thinking instead of making the automatic tight play. |

I just play the table I'm at. If I can get away with pushing people around when I'm holding a 3 8 in position, I'm going to do it.
The only time I noticed people going all-in like crazy were freerolls or low buy-in tournaments. In the higher buy-ins you won't have people trying to throw it all in there as easy. |
