How do we know we are playing against real poker players and that cards are truly random in online poker? Are poker rooms regulated? How striclty? Are there different rules in different countries?

What would be the benefit to the poker room in non-random cards?

only benefit i can see is them making intentional confrontation to make the rake higher...? like AA and give someone else KK or flop someone quads while flopping someone else a boat. EX. im holding 9,9 flop come 9,9,2 hes holding 2,2.

To see if its fair, you need to watch tables with out sharks on it. The sharks raises and raises in touneys or and cash tables. You can see the random of winnings by low or high hands. The trouble starts when the sharks comes to youre table, cause you don`t know when he holds a strong or a weak hand. The random cards are selected by a computer system, different from Ipoker to microgaming or to the party network. You will not see the same cards as You play, playing in all the networks. Some networks a hard to win, some are verry easy to play in. If I should do some promo of network, I would choose a network with few players like  FatbetPoker.

    Reason why would be:

    1. Few sharks in the network

    2. Lets you to try the hands you have to win randomly

    3. Youre likely to win if you are skilled.

    4. You learn more of the poker by those kind of "smal" networks

    5. Stay away from networks over 10.000 players, you are more likely to loose all youre money due to all the sharks

    6. Stay away from the big ones since its most likely you sit on tables, where better players sits.

    7. You need to learn the different networks befor you jump in to them. Cdpoker meens fold 60-75%, microgaming fold 50-70% and so on.

FatbetPoker is a smal network with  100 to 500 players, there are more  smal networks, but haven`t tryed them out yet. found fat bet for 2 month ago and are verry happy for it, after playing and loosing in the big ones for 2-3 years.

    GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!! :-)

I agree with you, the small/middle networks are often more interesting.

After taking a look at the athor bad beat stories, I see the same problems appears every time. So you might say the question: How do you know its fair?
The big clients, you should be able to count the cards and see for youre self that some times you realy need to ask, Was that logicaly fair?
I`ve noticed that the smaler networks seems to be easier to follow. see the cards and know approx what to come. some times you don`t. try play with real cards and shuffle them up deal them out and see for youre self. You should see what I`m telling you. The cards appears approx how you counted them. The players on left and right hand should have not far away from youre own cards. Thats whats going on in real. (Tested it out for my self) I`ve noticed that the small networks has approx the same cards delt out, as a real live holdem. the big clients its like winning in lotto.
    Test for youre self

Poker sites make money and grow by keeping people playing over the long term. It would be short-term thinking to fiddle with how the cards are dealt out. Not that some sites might not think short-term, but it's not really in their best interest.

I guess the advantage would be that they can have more tables running so that they can look bigger and more impressive. Plus they could use the same sort of tactics as slot machines use to get you to bet more and feel like you're winning or close to a big win.
