i had 1010 and my opponent had kj. I raised before the flop and he called... The flop came AQ9 and then when all in because i only had a 2.5k in chips... Then he made a donkey call with the weak KJ. The turn card was a 5 and then he rivered me with a king..

Damn, what some people are thinking is beyond me.  I mean he obviously was calling hoping to hit that 10.  So he put all those chips in hoping to hit a 4 outer(at best), some people need to try other things like Go Fish or Old Maid.

It wasn't that bad of a call. He probably sensed you were weak and he could catch. He might have had pot odds and probably big stack. Not really a bad beat. He had two overs and str8 draw.

Wow!  Risky call before the flop he could of been easily dominated, and then another bad call with an Ace on board and drawing to 7 outs.  The only thing I would of done differently especially if your playing against loose players or at lower limits was to push all in before the flop.  A general rule of thumb is if you have about 10 times the big blind, or if you bet 1/2 your stack.   You might as well push all in.  Nothing you could do you went in with the best of it.  Good luck next time and make them pay for their mistakes.

if it was a freeroll game, you see that often , people call and get lucky on the river becos they dont care as they did not put money in,, maybe if it was a buy in tourney, then i guess he would think twice and folded.
