I know some girls that can play poker pretty well. They have done pretty well against us guys sometimes. I've ended up going heads up against my friends girlfriend and she ended up winning. She did show me a really big bluff. I joked with my buddy and said he'll never know when she's lying to him.

I'm a female poker player and I haven't had any issues with respect. We're all just there to have a good time and take all the money :) Sure we make comments in good fun but I think a guy would have to be pretty ballsy (is that really a word!?) to actually be rude to a female at the table.

Yeah, ballsy works :) I only mess around with my wife or my friends wives at the table when we play.. in a Casino and I am playing against a female, she gets the same treatment a man would in my book.

I've played with some girls of various skill sets just like guys. I think poker is just like everything else- men and women have equal opportunity to excel.

SVD018, I think you are incorect stating that there are almost no women playing in very top professional poker circuits. Clearly their representation is very low percentage wise but there are many women that do play in top circuits and are considered very good players. Two of the most famous are Jennifer Harmon and Annie Duke. There are many female players you may have not seen on TV but they are out there at the tables in all levels of tournament circuits.

I remember when i played in a live tourneys when this guy distracting us especially the girl by saying to this young lady that what she is playing is a not a strip poker and he giggles like a schoolgirl. After the turn the guy went all-in confidently with 1000K (which is his chips), the girl called. I eventually fold that time that they were the only whose playing, the showdown came when the guy has J9 and the girl AA and the preflop is A4K988. The girl wins and the guy busted out!
