Once again the river gets me while I'm holding pocket aces that hit a set on the flop.

I raise it up and BB calls.

    comes the flop.

BB bets and I probably should have raised it here, but I just call.

    is the turn.

BB bets and once again I just call.

comes on the river and now I'm a little worried.

BB checks and my first thought was to just check, but I end up betting and BB raises. I have a bad feeling but I call and I deserve to see him show...

Yeah, i think you played far too soft. I would have raised heavy so that this guy is pushed off.

Yeah, I think sometimes I overthink the situation. I was kind of thinking I didn't want to scare him away and was trying to milk more chips out of him, but it back fired and I got burned on the river.

In some cases, no matter what you do the outcome will not be as optimal as it could be. That is just the way it goes sometimes.

    Ooh ouch.

Pocket aces... It never fails... Unless you go hard with them from the start they end up biting you in the butt.

I think you would have lost the hand no matter how you would have played it because I don`t think he could lay down AK

I think Sky is right there but you did not explain the situation what were the levels and what was your stack size, another guy said you could have folded and you could have but it wasn't an easy lay down I mean the other player could of been re-raising with a busted flush draw

Pocket aces are over valued constantly and I am often place to much value on the hand without concerning myself with what my opponent has. Pre-flop play strong and post flop consider your opponents style and stack size.

i think you played it wrong, the board was far too dangerous to smooth call. since you raised it pre flop and he called from the BB it should give you an indication he has some kind of hand, assuming that hes not sumone do defend his blind often or is very loose. so when the flop shows the 3 high cards hes more than likely hit something, making a reraise is a good option as he could have 2 pair or the flush/straight draw and would still call your reraise, and if the board pairs on the turn you could have house over house or he could even hit trips..but when the blank comes on the turn tho, that would be your time to shove since the pot should be big enough by now and see if he will lay down his draw for the price. your all in could also make him think that you already have the straight.

letting it get to the river was the problem with the many cards that could have came up to bite you on the ass like they did lol

still tho, sucks gettin your aces busted lol

It was good you raised up Your AA on preflop but was bad just calling his bets and letting him take the lead on seeing a river he payed for. You should have reraise him on the flop seeing there was also a draw of flushing Diamonds and a Straight draw. He would probably call the turn then sees a useless 7. And if you Bet again he would probably fold. Also in the river the BB checks.. isn't it fishy he just checked after pounding bets. I would have checked if I were you just to be safe. The pot is already big considering you raised it on pre-flop then his continuous bettings. But still it was a good play. We all get our Aces Cracked up sometimes. ^^

I think if you don't raise with Pocket aces you deserve to get beat with them. You got to play them aggressively online or you are bound to get beat.

But if you are bound to get sucked out by somebody who'll catch a two pair on the flop like you did, and you'll end up losing.

You should raise on the river in any case, there was good outs on flop for flush and straight.
And if this player have tight image you also should fold after his check-raise, and for low limits fold against almost any player.
