I used to think I was pretty good at heads-up play, but I have struggled the last few times I've been in this situation. What are your three top tips to becoming a good heads-up player?

My tips :

In Heads-up,  you have to play as much as the player as the cards.

Don’t forget to water the plants !!

need to remember that ace-rags go up in value while small suited/connecters go down.

the occasional random all in usually confuses the opponent and he folds (the odds of deciding to randomly go allin against a real calling hand are slim)

Aggression is critical, although not necessarily easy. I continually battle a tendency to sit back and wait for cards even though I know that taking the lead is more productive overall since it offers two ways to win pots rather than just one.

I've come unstuck quite a few times by bluffing heads-up. I've thrown a lot of chips into the middle to 'show' I've got a strong hand - but my opponent really did have a strong hand and walked away with my chips. It's tough to know when to bluff - it can backfire on you big time.

1. be predictable (set up other player)
2. switch your predictability to your advantage
3. set the trap and cripple or break the other player
