Re: No Poker Face
Well, poker isn't entirely chance. There is skill to it too. But, skill doesn't come instantly - it takes practice, and practice means losing some of the time.

Re: Hi
Welcome aboard, and much luck back to you in your own games! Are you new to poker?

Re: Fighting
I think sometimes that emotions run a little heated from the high tension and anxiety of the game. Still, people need to control themselves.

Re: Dressing up for a game
Frankly, if I were in a televised tournament, I'd dress up - but from watching many tournaments, no dress code seems required or customary.

Re: Most comedic poker moment?
Oh, the poor guy. :) I guess that's why we invented call waiting, but I guess he didn't have the nerve to screen... hehehe!

Re: Avoiding Blinds
Still, do you see a real alternate to prevent abuse? If people aren't responsible for leaving games, they can just leave when they start to lose and work the system.

Re: Poker Slaves?
That's really horrible. How awful to be that poor girl. It's so important for us to support human rights around the world and work towards a time when this would never happen.

Re: Most comedic poker moment?
Yikes, how embarassing - at least it would be for me, but maybe not for many poker-playing guys that I know!

Re: Avoiding Blinds
We're now in an age, though, that most people are not going to be playing on dialup services (at least in the US), so I don't think that should be a consideration.

Re: Poker Slaves?
My goodness, how sad. The real trouble is that women are not considered as equals in so many places in the world.

Re: Avoiding Blinds
Right. If your connection is that bad, you shouldn't play. I think a penalty is necessary - but not so severe that an occasional disconnect from a player will hurt them badly.

Re: Poker Blacklist
These sites are businesses. They don't want to lose customers - so they only remove people who are a detriment in some way. A confused and concerned email works much better than shouting. It's possible errors were made.

Re: It takes all kinds.
I hate when that kind of thing happens. Sometimes you just want to play, and every minute of the day doesn't have to be social hour. There are chat rooms freely available, after all.

Re: Display pictures and names of group members
It would also be nice to allow Avatars in the forum itself - it would help in remembering each user and give us a way to express our personality a little bit!

Re: Age Verification?At
At this point, the main strategies are the honor system (asking), requiring a credit card, or using an age-verification program (which charges customers a fee and also requires a credit card).

Re: Age Verification?
As online gambling is now illegal in the US, American poker sites would just be information-based. I don't see the need for such a script.

Re: Good quality chip sets
Interesting. I actually got mine in an import deal - I payed I believe $60 and he was in fact reselling them for $200 to most people, but needed help meeting the minimum order, so I made out very well.
