The final Day of Day 1 is today and more big names are gone...Andy Bloch, David WIlliams, Annie Duke to name a few.
Phil Hellmuth made a fool of himself as he arrived dressed as an Army General in a convoy of military vehicles.

Today was a day off for the main event.
Tomorrow will be Day 2a where the remaining players from Day 1a and 1b will play.
Wednesday the players remaining from Day 1c and 1d will play.

So there were 6,844 players who entered the 2008 WSOP Main Event and out of those, 666 will make it into the money.
When Day 2a started today there were 3928 players that remained from Day 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d. The 1,252 players that played today were the ones that survived to the end of Day 1a and 1b. Steve Chung was the bubble boy this year, but thanks to Milwakee's Best Light he will get something for not making it into the money - a seat for the 2009 WSOP Main Event. |
