Hello everyone.
I run a poker league in my basement. We play every other saturday. So we play this saturday and then play again 2 weeks after that. We play 14 tournaments like that, and keep track of orders of finish to determine the top 3 for our league.
The buy in is $20+$5 with $20 of each buy in going towards that nights tournament prize pool, and the other $5 going towards the end of the league prize pool. After all 14 events all of the +$5's are paid out to the top 3 finishers in the point standings. We are just starting the second season, we paid out over $1500 for the league end payout last time, and hopefully will pay out more this time.
Our nightly prize pools get pretty good sized due to the fact we allow rebuys for the first 3 blind levels. Blinds start at 50 and 1000 with a 20,000 starting chip stack that allows for a lot of room to play for your $25 bucks. The blinds are 25 minute levels. I have profession style homemade oval poker tables with padded rails and high quality clay chips.
I dont profit from the league, I just love to play, and with having a large family,(A Wife and 4 Kids) it allows me to play without traveling far. There often is snacks provided as well. Contact me if you are interested in coming. Our next event is Saturday July 31st at 5pm. Email me for directions. All tournaments are No Limit Texas Hold'em.
Most nights after the tournament we play cash games at .50/$1 blind levels or $1/$2 depending on what the players want to play. No rake of course.
