John Hennigan AKA: "Johnny World"
John "World" Hennigan is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. John is nicknamed "Johnny World" because he is willing to bet on anything in the world.
In the 1999 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 no limit hold'em main event Hennigan finished 19th.
Hennigan had a good few days in April 2002 when he made the final table of the WSOP $1,500 seven-card stud event and just four days later in the $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. event he won his first bracelet, taking home the $117,320 first prize. The following month John finished 4th in the inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals event won by Gus Hansen. Hennigan continued the great play in 2002 by finishing the year winning The United States Poker Championship's $7,500 no limit hold'em main event. He defeated Erik Seidel heads-up to a $216,000 prize. He also finished 5th in the same event in 2003.
John won his second WSOP bracelet in the $5,000 limit hold'em event in 2004, when he defeated a final table that included James McManus, David Chiu and T.J. Cloutier.
Hennigan made two more WSOP final tables in 2005, which included a 2nd place finish in the $5,000 2 to 7 draw lowball event.
Hennigan won his first World Poker Tour title in 2007 earning $1.6 million at the Winter Poker Open.
